Confirm If You Need A Canada Study Permit
If one of the following situations applies to you, then you do not need a study permit in Canada
- If you enrol in a study program that is not more than six months
- If you are a family or staff member of a foreign representative in Canada, who is accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
- If you are a foreigner but you have an Indian status registered in Canada
- If you are a member of foreign armed forces from the Visiting Forces Act

After receiving your acceptance letter from your prefered University, it is time to begin your study permit application
- Apply online through the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
- Submit an electronic copy of your acceptance letter
- Submit proof of financial support to aid your studies in Canada which include tuition and living expenses
- Submit clinical records stating you are in excellent health and not a threat to Canada
